Near the north bank of Kanas Lake, there is
a long dead wood dyke more than one meter high and 2000-plus
long. The dyke is formed of dead wood rolling down into the
lake from Kanas Mountains. When lake water rises, the dead wood
floats on lake surface at the foot of Youyifeng Mountain on
the north bank; the lake water falls, the dead wood makes a
thousand-m-long dead wood dyke. Why does the dead wood not float
downstream with the water? It remains a mystery up to now. It
is said that the dead wood is reluctant to part the Kanas as
the native place for a long time.
